Tribal Council Appoints Cherokee National Treasure to Advisory Committee

TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA — The Cherokee Nation Tribal Council voted Monday to appoint Cherokee sculptor Eddie Morrison to serve a one-year term on the Cherokee National Treasure Advisory Committee.

Morrison, of Tahlequah, joins the five person committee that each year helps narrow down the field of talented artists, artisans, performers and others who excel in and advance Cherokee art forms. read entire article, click here.

Wherever we are, we are just beginning. Touching & Moving, we are proud to present: "A Man's Legacy" for screening Sept 4th - after our Red Carpet reception 5:30-7:30pm. It's an intimate ‪#‎SliceofLife‬ of a sculptor, Eddie Morrison. During Cherokee National Holiday there were many events to attend including the inaugural Tribal Film Festival presented by TribalTV. Hundreds attended the event that took place Sept. 4-6 at the Dream Theater in downtown Tahlequah.

The three-day event presented indigenous films ranging from children’s films to horror films along with locally filmed documentaries. More than 40 films were screened during the festival. Read more, click here.

Nov 15, 2013 - Nov 16, 2013 - Artist Eddie Morrison had a wonderful experience visiting the Indian Craft Shop inside the Deptartment of Interior building in Washington, DC. on NOVEMBER 14 - 16, 2013. Eddie met many wonderful people interested in his artwork and made some new friends. The photos above to the left are his pieces in Sculpture Garden of the Department of the Interior, Indian Craft. The photo to the right is a new piece being delivered to its new owner in Virginia.
